Range Rules

Common Sense Range Rules

  • SAFETY ON THE RANGE IS PARAMOUNT TO EVERYTHING ELSE.
  • The range is considered hot at all times other when a cease fire is called, the cold range lights are on, weapons are laid down with action open or placed in racks.
  • Ensure all shooters are aware and agree that the range is cold before stepping forward.
  • Do not step forward of the concrete edge when the range is hot.
  • Always keep all weapons pointed down range at all times.  Do not point your weapon at any time at anything you do not intend to destroy.
  • EYE AND EAR PROTECTION IS REQUIRED TO BE WORN BY ALL PERSONS ON THE RANGE AT ALL TIMES.
  •  Do not handle any firearm while other shooters are downrange
checking or changing targets. This includes cleaning, adjusting
sights, moving the gun on the rest, etc.
  • Do not handle any other shooter’s gun, ammunition and/or
equipment without his or her permission.
  • Be aware of the firing cadence of the shooters next to you and
try to avoid firing simultaneously with them.

  • Avoid starting up unnecessary conversations with other shooters
while they are firing, particularly if they are sighting-in, testing
loads or engaged in some other activity requiring concentration.
  • Police up all your brass, targets, empty ammunition boxes
and other trash.

  • Do not pick up another shooter’s brass; he or she may intend
to use it for reloading.

  • Do not engage in boisterous, loud or distracting behavior that
might annoy other shooters.
  • Know and obey all range safety rules.  READ ALL SIGNS
  • Know where others are at all times
  • Shoot only at authorized targets
  • Stop shooting immediately if you have experienced an ammunition malfunction
  • Range Masters or other supervision are generally not present.  YOU are responsible for your safety, and that of anyone on the range.
  • Remove all trash and take it with you.  Our tiny membership fee does not allow for the hiring of cleaning staff, dumpsters, or the like.
  • Spectators are not allowed.  All persons present on the range must be members of the club.  This is a requirement of our insurance carrier and will be strictly enforced.
  • Open the gate with your gate code when you arrive.  If you are the last to leave, close and lock the gate.
  • Report any problems to club officers.  Report any dangerous activity to police by dialing 911.
